A keyword is a word that is used to describe a much more complex rule or concept. The most common usage is "keyword ability".
Keyword Ability
A keyword ability is an ability that can be described using a single word (and possibly a parameter or two). The keyword is considered equivalent to its whole definition. For examples, see Shield or Unique.
Only keyword abilities can be lost. See Gaining and losing abilities.
